Poor Young Things

Poor Young Things

Theses five young men share a passion for music that is rivaled only by their passion to perform. Poor Young Things delivers an all-original vintage-style rootsy blues tinged rock sound that has seen them earn acknowledgment from their musical peers, complete collaborations with Canadian renowned musicians, and has allowed them to share the stage with great Canadian artists such as The Trews, The Arkells, Dean Lickyer, Kim Mitchell, Trooper, Nazareth and Matt Mays & El Torpedo. Influenced by everyone from The Boss to The Black Crowes, Poor Young Things display a level of originality which is deeply personal yet universally relatable. Raw, honest and heartfelt.

In the last near decade the guys have worked very hard building up a loyal fan base, writing music, as well as growing as artists and together as band mates. After spending the spring of 2010 writing and touring on the west coast, the guys were aspiring to capture the power, intensity and chemistry of their highly-charged live show. They spent the summer recording the follow-up to their 2008 self titled EP [produced by Dale Penner (Nickelback, Matt Good)] This saw the band hook-up with Trews’ keys powerhouse Jeff Heisholt who laid down some of his renowned licks to give the guys an added soulful organic groove.

Poor Young Things is now spending their winter settling into their new home in Toronto, and keeping the positive momentum going with more writing , more shows and continuing the grow their fanbase. The band is seeking to become a bigger player in the Canadian music scene, while continuing the tradition of great Canadian Rock & Roll.
